On November 18, 1991, the Law “On the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted. It states that the national flag is a symbol of state sovereignty. Sky blue color on the flag is a symbol of blue sky and clear water, white color is a symbol of peace and purity, green color is the personification of a blessed nature, red stripes are vitality – a symbol of life, a young crescent means peace and tranquility reigning in the country, and also a new era in the history of the state, 12 stars – a symbol of a clear, cloudless sky, perfection, wisdom.
